Explanation:

The City of Hollywood was established on November 28, 1925 by our founding father Joseph Wesley Young.  Mr. Young arrived in Florida in 1920 to search for a place to establish his "Dream City."  The City of Hollywood has grown into the 12^th largest city in the State of Florida with a population of more than 146,000. Hollywood is home to Florida's only oceanfront "Boardwalk" where no motorized traffic can come between you and the ocean sands.

The City has become a corporate headquarters location for both national and international businesses.  The redevelopment of Downtown Hollywood is leading the revitalization of the Arts in the heart of the city.    Much of the success of the city and its recent regrowth has been achieved with the support of citizens, community partners and local businesses.

The month of November 2015 has been designated to celebrate the city’s 90^th Anniversary.
