Explanation:
In 2014, Timothy Clingerman filed a civil action against the City of Hollywood, Florida, arising out of an accident that allegedly occurred on or about December 18, 2012. In the action, Mr. Clingerman alleges that while he was lying on the beach, a City-owned vehicle driven by the City employee collided with him. Mr. Cingerman further alleges that his injury was the result of the negligence of the City employee.
The City Attorney’s Office and Mr. Clingerman’s attorney have negotiated a settlement in the amount of $170,000.00. If this settlement is approved by the City Commission, the monies will be paid from the City’s self-insurance fund.
