Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts recommends that the City participate in the Food Service Program for students in the summer camps and an aftercare program.
On April 8, 2015, the Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts requested informal proposals.
Proposals were due at 3:00 p.m. on April 13, 2015, and resulted in four (4) responses.
Village Youth Services, Inc. was selected to become the Food Service Program Provider for the 2015 Summer Camps and 2015-2016 aftercare programs.
Village Youth Services, Inc. was unable to obtain the State of Florida; Department of Health Certification required providing Aftercare snacks.
Memo PR-15-250 dated August 24, 2015 was sent to the Mayor and Commissioner to notify them of the Termination with Village Youth Services, Inc.
The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts has identified Flipany Inc. to provide the Aftercare snack services.
Flipany Inc. submitted a proposal on April 13, 2015 and is currently certified to provide food services by the State of Florida, Department of Health for the 2015-2016 school years.
Purchasing Ordinance Section 38.40 (C)(8) allows the competitive bidding process to be waived when the City Commission declares, by 5/7 vote, that the competitive process is not in the best interest of the City.
The City of Hollywood Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts recommend Flipany Inc. to be the Aftercare Program Sponsor for the 2015-2016 school years.
