Title

A Resolution Of The City Commission Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Approving and Authorizing The  Termination of  The Agreement  Between The Superlative Group And The City Of Hollywood For Sponsorship Services.

Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the Attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts requested Procurement Services to seek Letters of Interest (“RLI”) for companies to assess, value and market City of Hollywood assets/facilities in order to generate non-traditional revenue.

RLI-4351-13-IS was issued on November 27, 2012 and opened on January 8, 2013 which resulted in seven (7) responses.

On May 15, 2013, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution Number R-2013-130, authorizing the negotiation and execution, by the appropriate City Officials, of an Agreement embodying the terms and conditions as set forth in RLI-4351-13-IS and as approved by the City Commission between The Superlative Group and the City of Hollywood for Sponsorship Services.

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts has requested that the agreement with The Superlative Group be terminated without cause.

The RLI-4351-13-IS document states that the City of Hollywood reserves the right to cancel this agreement with or without cause.

The Director of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts recommend that the City Commission authorize the termination of the agreement for Sponsorship Services with The Superlative Group effective immediately, and that City staff will seek out sponsorship opportunities moving forward.
