Explanation:
The Police Department has a CCTV program presently underway. A consultant was hired by the Police Department and it was determined that the existing self-supporting communications tower behind the Police Building is insufficient to meet the existing requirements of the Florida Building Code. The Police Department also needs to add additional equipment to the tower. A consultant was hired to design the necessary structural upgrades to bring the tower up to code and take additional equipment. The construction documents were prepared by the consultant and the Notice to Bidders was issued online via BidSync on August 4, 2015. The construction documents were viewed by forty-six (46) vendors and fourteen (14) vendors downloaded the Project Manual and drawings. Six (6) bids were received and publicly opened on August 25, 2015. The bids are shown on the attached Bid Tabulation Sheet. The low bidder did not acknowledge an Addendum that had been issued for a typo in the drawings. The addendum was forwarded to him and he e-mailed back that the Addendum did not affect his bid of $54,014.00. The administration found the bid submitted by Allstate Tower, Inc., to be responsive and responsible and recommend the award of this Contract in the amount of $54,014.00. This project was approved in the FY 2015 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and funding is available in account no. 34.2015.15500.521.006301.
