Explanation:
For many years, Dr. Jurado has worked to ensure the environment in Hollywood and Broward County is protected and that we have a sustainable future. Dr. Jurado has received numerous awards for her scientific contributions; she was one of twelve individuals honored by the White House in 2013 as a community resilience “Champion of Change” for her innovative work in preparing our community for the consequences of climate change. Mayor Bober wishes to acknowledge Dr. Jurado for her outstanding dedication and leadership to protect Broward County and Southeast Florida from the consequences of climate change by issuing a proclamation in her honor.
