Explanation:
The City of Hollywood historically provides General Fund Agency Grant financial assistance to non-profit organizations serving Hollywood residents. The grant's purpose is to assist in funding programs which provide significant benefits to the Hollywood citizens via non-profit organizations whose programs align with one or more of the following eight (8) areas of concentration: art or music, education concentrated in the areas of math and science, health, wellness or nutrition, shelter and housing, respite care and services, diversity and cultural outreach, training and career planning / development, and veteran services.

A review of the seventeen (17) applications received for FY 2016 funding was conducted by the Community Development Advisory Board, with the recommendation that the grant program be continued and funds awarded to the non-profit organizations as listed in Exhibit "A."

Funding has been allocated in the Fiscal Year 2016 operating budget to continue the grant program in the amount of $177,000.00 subject to passage and adoption by the City Commission.

The attached resolution seeks authorization for the appropriate City Officials to enter into and execute all grant agreements between the City and the non-profit organizations, and for the Department of Financial Services to create accounts necessary to appropriate and disburse the grant...
