Staff Recommends: Approval of the Attached Resolution

Explanation:

Pursuant to Article 5 of the Zoning and Land Development Regulations, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution R-2001-149, which established a fee schedule relating to planning and zoning development review process.

As part of the Department of Public Works’ revenue enhancement review, staff found that, review fees commensurate with the services that require extensive coordination provided for Traffic, Parking and/or Transportation Related Study reviews are not being imposed.

The Public Works Department’s Engineering and Architectural Services Division is proposing to impose a fee for Traffic, Parking and/or Transportation Related Study reviews to recoup the City’s costs being incurred for the services. Staff also collected and reviewed fee data from surrounding municipalities and verified the proposed fees were commensurate with local industry. This data has been compiled and summarized in the attached table within the agenda item. The revenues garnered would be directed towards Engineering and Architectural Services’ operational budget needs and the new fee schedule would take into effect September 1, 2015. To provide coherence and consistency with the existing City of Hollywood fee structure, Staff recommends fees listed below:
