Explanation:

The Community Development Advisory Board (CDAB) was previously established under Chapter 37.30 of the Code of Ordinances. The ordinance was recently revised to eliminate the CDAB from the Code of Ordinances in order to re-establish the Board by resolution. The attached resolution was drafted to effectuate this action.

The newly-established Board shall consist of eleven (11) members appointed by resolution of the City Commission, who shall serve without compensation at the pleasure of the City Commission. Appointment to the Board shall be by majority vote of the City Commission, attendance, and all terms shall be filled as provided in Section 37.25 of the Code of Ordinances.

Members of the Board shall be qualified electors in the city. Priority shall be given to representatives from geographical areas of the city designated as qualified by the United States Census as having greater than fifty-one percent (51%) concentration of low- and moderate-income persons. A quorum of the Board shall consist of six (6) members.

Every year following the appointment by the Commission of the new members of the Board, information shall be disseminated for the purpose of acquainting the new appointees with the Board's rules and procedures.
