Staff Recommends:  Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:
Section 932.7055(5)(c)3., Florida Statutes requires each local Law Enforcement agency that acquires at least $15,000.00 pursuant to the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act to donate Law Enforcement Forfeiture Funds during every fiscal year for the support or operation of any drug treatment, drug abuse education, drug prevention or crime prevention, safe neighborhood, or school resource officer programs. The local law enforcement agency has the discretion to determine which program(s) will receive the designated proceeds. The attached Resolution seeks City Commission authorization to donate $75,000.00 to these organizations and programs. During the past several months, many agencies and organizations desiring to receive a donation of Law Enforcement Forfeiture Funds have requested an appropriation by submitting an application accompanied by a written certification that the donated funds will be used for an authorized purpose. The selection of the programs and organizations was made following a review of these applications.
