Staff Recommends: Approval of the Attached Resolution.


Explanation:
On May 4, 2011, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R-2011-104 which authorized staff to negotiate and execute an agreement with the highest ranked proposer, Sunshine After School Child Care, Inc. ("Sunshine"), for the operation of the after school and summer camp program services at City recreation facilities.

The term of the initial agreement was for three (3) years with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

On July 16, 2014, the City Commission approved Resolution No. R-2014-215 which authorized the renewal of the existing agreement between Sunshine and the City.

Sunshine is currently operating in the first renewal period ending June 21, 2015.

Sunshine has expressed its desire to exercise its option to renew for the final one (1) year renewal period commencing on June 22, 2015 and ending June 21, 2016.

Sunshine shall continue to pay the City 25% of its gross receipts from summer camp programs and 5% of its gross receipts from after school programs and will be responsible for all operating costs of the programs.

Sunshine has provided after school and summer camp services over the past four (4) years and their services have been satisfactory.

Award is subject to the City receiving all insurance required and approved by the City's Risk Manager, along with signed statements of Hold Harmless and Indemnity to the City, and other terms and conditions required by the agreement.
