Explanation:
On June 17, 2015, the City Commission passed and adopted Proposed Ordinance No. PO-2015-15 which amended Chapter 37 of the Code of Ordinances relating to Uniform Regulations for Boards and included the removal of the Crime Watch Advisory Board from the Code of Ordinances.

In order to continue to have input from the community relating to crime prevention it is necessary to establish a Neighborhood Watch Advisory Board to work in partnership with the Police Department and its Neighborhood Team Leaders to provide support in reducing crime and improving the quality of life for the residents, business owners, and visitors for the City.  The purpose of the Board will be to assist the Police Department in developing a Neighborhood Watch Program to be implemented throughout the City, which will promote crime prevention education and facilitate anti-crime programs in the neighborhoods, and implement neighborhood watch meetings.  The Board will assist the Neighborhood Watch Coordinator and Neighborhood Team Leaders to develop a program, including goals, objectives, strategies and milestones which will be recommended to the Police Chief for implementation in the geographical neighborhoods.
