Title
An Ordinance Of The City Of Hollywood, Florida, Repealing Chapter 119 Of The Code Of Ordinances Entitled "Massage Parlors". (15-T-17)
Body
Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Ordinance.
Explanation:
This item is presented with a companion item to amend the Zoning and Land Development Regulations to establish distance separation requirements and require conspicuous posting of licenses.
Chapter 119 of Hollywood's Code of Ordinance, which regulates massage establishments, has not been updated since 1989. As outlined in the companion item, State Laws have changed overtime, thus making these code provisions antiquated.
City Staff, including the Police Department and City Attorney's Office, recommend repealing Chapter 119 as the creation and appropriate enforcement of the companion item, in the Zoning and Land Development Regulations, and updated State Statutes, should adequately address regulating this type of use.
