Explanation:
Verizon Wireless has been providing the City of Hollywood with data wireless services for several Departments, including Police, Fire, Information Technology, Building and Parking since 2004. The data wireless services are necessary for these Departments in providing mission critical services to the City's residents and businesses. These services will continue to be provided by Verizon based on a negotiated contract by the State of Florida, leveraging the State's purchasing power, and providing for lower rates for state and local governments.
