Explanation:
The attached Resolution seeks City Commission authorization to protect the City's assets through the purchase of primary property and excess property insurance, flood insurance, and public official liability insurance. In accordance with the City's Purchasing Ordinance, Section 38.40(C)(9), purchases of insurance through the City's "Agent of Record" are exempt from the competitive bid and competitive proposal requirements. Utilizing RFP 4344-13-IS and Resolution R-2013-086, the City designated as its Agent of Record, Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services. The City's Agent of Record, Arthur J. Gallagher Risk Management Services, solicited and/or obtained quotes from eleven (11) carriers for various layers of property insurance and three (3) quotes for public officials liability insurance. The total renewal costs are an estimated decrease of $272,223.72 from the costs of the policies in effect the previous year.
