Explanation:

City of Hollywood entered into an Airspace Agreement (“Agreement”) to lease approximately 1.25 acres of land underneath the Hollywood Boulevard Bridge at State Road A1A with the State of Florida Department of Transportation on May 3, 1994 for a period of 20 years.  The initial use was for metered parking.  The Agreement was renewed on May 12, 2014 to allow the site to be used as a parking lot and for storage of equipment and for a modular office trailer. To be in compliance with the Federal Highway Administration’s guidance, the Agreement needs to be amended to prohibit storage of flammable and hazardous materials. The City is already in compliance with the stipulations of the amendment.

The Director of Communications, Marketing, and Economic Development recommends that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City Officials to execute an amendment to the Agreement with the State of Florida Department of Transportation.

Fiscal Impact:

The annual rent is $1.00 per year remains and is not impacted by this amendment.
