Explanation:
The Public Works Department is responsible for Citywide emergencies and unforeseen circumstances including inclement weather and hurricanes, providing help with clean up, moving of large objects, cutting trees and branches, and all around clean up and damage repair.
On July 27, 2023 the desired supplies were competitively bid by Sourcewell through Rental Equipment #040924-HRC and the term of the contract is from July 13, 2024 through June 11, 2028 for rental equipment. Sourcewell subsequently entered into an agreement with Herc Rentals Inc. for the rental of equipment.
Herc Rentals Inc. has agreed to extend to the City of Hollywood the same pricing under the terms and conditions set forth in the contract.
The Director of Public Works and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to issue a blanket purchase agreement to Herc Rentals Inc. for the rental of equipment necessary for Citywide clean up and repair needs for the period ending June 11, 2028 subject to vendor acceptance, satisfactory performance and the determination that renewal will be in the best interest of the City, for an annual amount up to $367,500.00.
