Explanation:
The City of Hollywood, Department of Public Utilities operates a Water Treatment Plant (WTP), located at 3441 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood, Florida, which delivers drinking water to residents, businesses and large users.
The City of Hollywood Water Treatment Plant operates an on-site Electrolytic Sodium Hypochlorite Generation System producing 0.8% concentration of sodium hypochlorite, which is an integral part of the water treatment and purification process.
The 0.8% sodium hypochlorite produced at the Water Treatment Plant is mainly stored in nine (9) fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) storage tanks, seven (7) of which are ten thousand (10,000) gallon capacity tanks and the remaining two (2) of which are seven thousand (7,000) gallon capacity tanks.
In order to maintain operational efficiency and reliability, these storage tanks require repairs which include re-seaming the joints, resin coating of sidewalls and ends, replacement of nozzles and resealing the man-way.
The Department of Public Utilities solicited written quotations from qualified vendors detailing the repair work to be performed on one (1) ten thousand (10,000) gallon tank.
Written quotations were received from three (3) qualified vendors as follows;
