Explanation:

The Police Department plans to apply for $50,000.00 in funding from the Broward Marine Advisory Committee to assist with the removal of derelict vessels.  There is no required match for this grant.

The City has worked extensively to clean up the City’s waterways of derelict vessels.  This grant funding is imperative for the continued success of this initiative.

The Police Department’s Marine Patrol Division oversees the enforcement of the waterway regulations within the City, including but not limited to issues relating to derelict and abandoned vessels.

Fiscal Impact:

If approved, grant funding in the amount of $50,000.00 will be appropriated in the FY 2025 Operating Budget for the (Police Grant Fund) Fund 113.
