Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities ("DPU") needs to purchase Flygt brand equipment pumps and parts for the maintenance and repair of the City's 85 Sewage Lift Stations. Standardization of equipment makes station servicing more efficient while lowering costs by reducing parts inventory. Flygt pumps are currently in use throughout the system and standardization in the remainder of the pump station is easily achieved with low-cost adaptive mounting in the remaining stations to accommodate the Flygt pumps and equipment, thus adding to the appeal of standardization. Properly functioning Sewage Lift Stations are essential for the health and safety of the community because they are necessary to convey wastewater from individual structures to the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant for treatment and disposal.
Xylem Water Solutions U.S.A. Inc. ("Xylem") is the Sole Authorized Source for Flygt brand pumps and equipment.
Notice to Sole source Number NTSS-204-24 was posted electronically on OpenGov from May 20, 2024 through May 28, 2024, and received no inquiries.
The Department of Public Utilities Director and the Interim Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the issuance of a purchase order to Xylem for Flygt pumps and parts in an amount up to $340,000.00.

Funding for the Purchase Order is available in the FY 2024 Operating Budget in account number 442.400603.53600.564531.000000.000.000.
