Explanation:

The Department of Fire Rescue and Beach Safety's emergency response services rely on dependable frontline equipment vital for daily activities and emergency preparedness. Acquiring a new rescue apparatus is essential to replace an aging one and to maintain operational efficiency, firefighter safety, and compliance with relevant performance and safety standards.

The Department plans to acquire this apparatus through ETR using a competitively solicited cooperative purchasing agreement awarded by the Florida Sheriffs Association. This cooperative contract meets procurement standards by offering pre-negotiated pricing, uniform terms, and verified vendor qualifications, ensuring the City gets the best value while staying compliant with purchasing rules. ETR has proven its ability to supply equipment that aligns with the Department’s operational needs, delivery schedules, and service support expectations. Using this cooperative agreement allows the Department to efficiently acquire the necessary apparatus and avoid delays that come with conducting an independent solicitation.

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this Purchase Order was included in the amended FY 2026 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 335.219901.52200.564530.001610.000.000.
