Explanation:

On December 11, 2021, Ms. Cathleen Dean won the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Suncoast Chapter Emmy in the category of Societal Concerns - Long Form Content for her film “Wade In The Water: Drowning In Racism”.

 

In celebration of Black History Month, the City of Hollywood would like to recognize Ms. Dean for her remarkable achievement in illustrating the story of Black Floridians fight for desegregation to swim at the state’s beaches and swimming pools in her film: “Wade In The Water: Drowning In Racism”.

 

The proclamation will be accepted by Ms. Cathleen Dean.

 

The proclamation will be presented at the February 2, 2022 City Commission Meeting.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this Proclamation will not fiscally impact the City.
