Explanation:
The City of Hollywood's (COH) Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is an advanced 60 million gallons per day (MGD) drinking water treatment facility that provides high-quality water to its customers and also provides an emergency connection for the City of Dania Beach, which only withdraws water when needed to maintain system pressure.

The WTP requires a regular supply of rice-size quicklime for pH adjustment during the lime softening water treatment process.

On October 11, 2023, the City of Tamarac (COT) entered into an agreement with Lhoist North America, Inc. (Lhoist) to furnish, deliver, and discharge rice-size quicklime. The quicklime was competitively bid through the COT, which acted as the lead agency on behalf of the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Group Cooperative (SFCOOP), pursuant to Bid Number 23-36B. The agreement between the COT and Lhoist is for an initial three-year term from November 1, 2023, through October 31, 2026, with the option to renew for three additional one-year periods. The COH is an active participating government entity in the Southeast Florida Governmental Purchasing Group Cooperative and would like to piggyback on the agreement between the COT and Lhoist.
