Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of Resolution.

Explanation:
The Engineering Services Division implements the sidewalk improvement projects adopted under the City's Capital Improvement Programs to include the ADA Sidewalk/Ramp program, the CDBG Sidewalk program, the City Facilities Sidewalk program and the continuation of the 50/50 Shared Cost Sidewalk Program, a voluntary partnership project between the City of Hollywood and its residents;. This program, originally established back in 2001, has been successfully implemented since its inception. Property owners are able to take advantage of the competitive low pricing, choose to have the City's contractor perform and manage the sidewalk work, and pay upon completion or make monthly payments over a term of up to two years, lessoning the financial burden to maintain the sidewalk infrastructure. Funding for the 50/50 Shared Cost program is distributed throughout the City and is also supplemented at times by Community Block Grant Funds, which are utilized for sidewalk improvement projects in eligible neighborhoods.

Bids for this unified sidewalk improvements project were solicited through the City's website and Demandstar by Onvia. Twelve (12) bids were receive and the tabulation of these bids is attached for your reference.

Staff is recommending award of the contract to the lowest, responsive, responsible bidder, Coreland Construction, Corp. in the amount of $399,805.00.
