Body

Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

The Department of Public Works recommends the purchase of a Python 5000 Asphalt Pothole Patching machine to keep up with the volume of potholes being reported daily and lessen the probability for dangerous traffic issues.

The Python 5000 Asphalt Pothole Patching Machine is the only product on the market with multiple all-in-one functions which allow one employee to operate the equipment as opposed to the current process which requires three employees. It will repair potholes at a fraction of the cost, preserve the life of the roads for years and protect residents from what could be life threatening potholes.

It is the recommendation of the Department of Public Works Director to approve and authorize the issuance of a Purchase Order in the amount of $458,180.44.

Fiscal Impact:

Funding for this purchase was included in the amended FY 2022 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 334.509901.51900.564530.001506.000.000.
