Staff Recommends: Approval of the attached Resolution.
Explanation:
On February 8, 2023, an application was submitted to the City of Hollywood’s Planning and Urban Design Division, requesting a Special Exception to establish a K-12 Educational School Facility.
At the Planning and Development Board Meeting of July 11, 2023, staff presented a report that analyzed the submission and supporting materials for appropriateness against the seven review criteria outlined in Article 5.3(G) of Zoning and Land Development Regulations.
During the meeting, through cross examination, several concerns were raised that led to the decision of the Board to deny the Special Exception. Subsequently, the applicant filled an appeal of the Board’s decision.
While staff is recommending approval of attached resolution to deny the appeal for a Special Exception, should the City Commission decide to grant it, staff requests the conditions contained within the Staff Report dated September 20, 2023, be met prior to the issuance of building permits.
For further details and analysis of the criteria refer to the staff report attached.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City as this is a proposal to deny the appeal for a Special Exception.
