The Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") has jurisdiction over SR5/US-1 Federal Highway from SR 824/Pembroke Road to SR 822/Sheridan Street and as part of the continual updating of the State of Florida Highway System, and for the purpose of safety, protection of the investment and other reasons, FDOT has constructed and does maintain SR5/US-1 Federal Highway from SR824/Pembroke Road Mile Post (M.P. 1.53) to SR 822/Sheridan Street (M.P. 4.15) within the limits of the City.

FDOT has proposed the installation of new decorative pedestrian lighting along SR5 from SR824/Pembroke Road to the intersection at the south end of Young Circle; and along SR5 from the intersection at the north end of Young Circle to SR822/Sheridan Street to the intersection of east Young Circle and Harrison Street and at the intersection of east Young Circle and Tyler Street. FDOT'S project also includes the retrofitting of existing high pressure sodium decorative lighting pole fixtures to be replaced with decorative LED fixtures within the entire project limits.

Upon completion of the project, the City will be responsible for maintenance of certain elements as set forth in the attached Maintenance Memorandum of Agreement.

FDOT has undertaken and obtained approval from the required Federal agencies for cost participation for the Project, however, the City will be responsible for additional project costs that are determined to be Federa...
