Explanation:
The Department of Design & Construction Management recommends it is in the best interest of the City to enter into continuing services contracts with multiple architectural and land surveying firms to provide professional services that may be required to implement future Citywide projects.
The acquisition of professional Architecture, Landscape Architecture, and Consulting Services by a state agency, a municipality, a political subdivision, a school board or district are governed by Florida Statute 287.055, known as the Consultants' Competitive Negotiation Act (CCNA). CCNA provides for public and competitive qualification-based selection. It allows for continuing services contracts, entered into under the requirements of this act and for a limited term, for projects with an estimated construction cost of less than $7,500,000.00 or study activity if the fee for each individual study does not exceed $500,000.00.
These professional services for specific projects will be requested on an "as needed - when needed" basis and the initial term of each continuing service contract will be for three years with the option to renew the contract for two subsequent two-year terms based on satisfactory performance and mutual agreement.
