Explanation:

In November 2016, pursuant to Resolution No. R-2016-368, the Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts received funding for the 2017/2018 Children's Services Council ("CSC") Maximizing Out Of School Time ("MOST") Year-Round grant available to fund Youth Summer Programs and After School Programs.

The grant funding helps to offset staff costs and departmental expenses, while enabling the City to offer safe, affordable, quality summer camp programs and two after school programs that will serve an estimated 400 youth.

The CSC grant requires a minimum 5% match from the local government receiving the grant.  The grant match may be provided in the form of an in-kind match.

Fiscal Impact:

If accepted, the grant will be budgeted in the FY2022 Operating Budget subject to approval and adoption by the City Commission.  The estimated value of the City’s in-kind match is $30,000 which is comprised of a portion of current full time PRCA staff salaries.
