Explanation:
The African American Advisory Council’s purpose is to keep the Commission and staff informed as to the needs and concerns of African Americans in the City of Hollywood. The Council is dedicated to being proactive in the organization and structuring of economics, employment, housing, education and cultural awareness in order to empower the African American community, as well as the City of Hollywood at large.
Members of the AAAC must reside or work in the City of Hollywood, be of African American descent, and/or have extensive knowledge and interest in the African American community.
Currently, the regular members of the AAAC are Suze Dormevil, Joann Fullington-Reese, Carmella Gardner, Cynthia Horat, Georgette Lasley, Marcus Moise, Basil Phillips, Deborah Reaves Deveaux, Nicole Rowe, Joanne Taitt, Chanel Williams,
Nila Williams
There is currently one vacant unfilled regular position on the AAAC.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
