Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities ("Department") needs to purchase Emulsified Polymer ("Polymer"). Polymer is an essential component of the sewage treatment and disposal processes at the Southern Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant. Polymer is used in the coagulation and removal of solids in the primary treatment process and for dewatering of biosolids prior to disposal or land application. Polymer is a critical component of the regulatorily required wastewater treatment process.
A competitive procurement process was completed by Broward County ("Broward"), via Bid OPN2118441B1 and Broward issued contract OPN2118441B1 to Polydyne, Inc. ("Polydyne") for an initial period of three years beginning on 8/19/2021 and ending on 8/19/2024 with optional one-year renewals through 8/19/2029. The current term of the active OPN2118441B1 contract is from 8/19/2024 through 8/19/2025.
Polydyne has agreed to allow the City of Hollywood to piggyback contract number OPN2118441B1 under the same terms, conditions, and pricing.
The Department Director and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the execution of a renewable Blanket Purchase Agreement with Polydyne for Polymer from March 19, 2025, through August 19, 2025, in an annual amount up to $640,000.00.
