Explanation:
Section 2.04(a) of the City Charter provides, in relevant part, that the City Commission shall schedule no fewer than 20 regular meetings per year and shall hold no fewer than 18 regular meetings per year at such times and places as shall be specified by resolution. In addition Section 2.04(f) of the Charter provides, in relevant part, when the Commission holds one regular meeting in a calendar month, the agenda for that meeting will contain an item titled “Citizens’ Comments.”
City Commission meetings are scheduled for the first and third Wednesdays of each month starting at 1:00 PM, except during the month of August, with citizens’ comments scheduled at 5:00 PM at the third Wednesday of each month.
In light of the holidays, the City Commission desires to cancel the December 18, 2019 Commission meeting. To comply with the City Charter the City Commission will have citizens’ comments at 5:00 PM on the regularly scheduled Wednesday, December 4, 2019 meeting.
