Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts recommends that the City participate in the Food Service Program for students in the summer camps and an aftercare program.

The State of Florida, Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS), offers a Summer Food Service Program for Children which provides snacks, breakfast, lunch and/or dinner as required by DACS for children 18 years old or younger from low income families.

The City of Hollywood will act as the Site.

The recommended vendor will act as the Sponsor and will be responsible for furnishing each meal and snack.

The children who will be served meals and snacks will act as the Recipients.

The Site will authorize the use of City facilities to the Sponsor and allow the Recipients access to the Food Service Program.

It is anticipated that approximately 400-500 low income children will be served a daily breakfast and lunch at the following locations in the City: Kay Gaither Community Center at Beverly Park, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center, McNicol Community Center and Washington Park Community Center.

An additional 70-75 low income child will be served a daily snack and dinner at the Kay Gaither Community Center at Beverly Park during the aftercare program.

On April 8, 2015, the Department of Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts requested informal proposals from DACS approved sponsors.
