Body

Staff Recommends:  Approval of the attached Resolution.

Explanation:

An application was submitted by Chloe Chin seeking to name the skatepark at Stanley Goldman Memorial Park “Justice Skatepark” in honor of Justice Michael Kiziah Chin, who recently passed away from a rare form of Brain Arteriovenous Malformation.

Justice was always at the skatepark after school and on weekends and was known to always put a smile on your face and lift up your spirits. Over 3,064 signatures were obtained on a petition supporting the naming proposal.

The Naming Committee met and reviewed the application and supporting documents and recommends to the City Commission that the skatepark at Stanley Goldman Memorial Park be named “Justice Skatepark” in his honor.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
