Explanation:
The CRA Board directed CRA staff to enhance ADA accessibility and beach access from Crocus Terrace to Magnolia Terrace by implementing new ADA accessible ramps and stairs along the east side of the existing seawall (“Project”) at the following street ends: Crocus Terrace, Daffodil Terrace, Eucalyptus Terrace, Foxglove Terrace, Greenbrier Terrace, Hyacinth Terrace, and Magnolia Terrace. The CRA’s consultant, Moffatt and Nichol, prepared construction documents for the Project at the various street ends within the project limits and obtained a permit from all authorities having jurisdiction, including the Florida Department of Environmental Protection and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
On March 1, 2023, the CRA Board passed and adopted Resolution R-CRA-2023-12 approving the ranking of tier-based Construction Management at Risk firms through continuing services, and Burkhardt Construction Inc. (Burkhardt) was one of the highest-ranked firms in Tier 2, on an as-needed/when-needed basis.
Burkhardt reviewed the scope of work, bid out the project, and prepared and submitted a Guaranteed Maximum Price (“GMP”) for the construction of the Project in an amount up to $946,597.81.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding in the amount of $976,547.81 is available in the FY 2027 Beach CRA Budget in account number 163.639901.55200...
