Explanation:
On February 17, 2021, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2021-034, authorizing the appropriate City officials to execute the Second Amendment of the Transportation System Surtax Interlocal Agreement among Broward County, the Broward County Metropolitan Planning Organization and various municipalities to address the surtax process and restate various surtax cycles, allocations and conditions for municipal projects.

On March 11, 2022, Broward County Mobility Advancement Program ("MAP") finalized the evaluation criteria and opened an application portal for 2022 Surtax Capital Improvement Projects with a deadline to submit applications by April 8th, 2022.

The Department of Development Services, Engineering, Transportation, and Mobility Division has identified the following Surtax capital improvement projects for possible 2022 Surtax funding that will improve the level of service for vehicular traffic, bicyclists, and pedestrians within the City:

1. Hollywood Boulevard Traffic Calming Project: Narrowing of the through lanes on Hollywood Boulevard at City Hall Circle and the geometric realignment of two intersections to reduce traffic speeds in the area and improve bicycle/pedestrian safety (submitted last year).
