CITY COMMISSION ADOPTION HEARING - NEW FIRST READING
On September 3, 2025, this item was presented to the Commission at a regular meeting with initial verbiage of the incorporation and the designation area of Johnson to Jefferson Street with a first reading, where it was passed and scheduled for a second reading with further direction. Due to the significant changes requested by the Commission to the geographic area, a new first reading of the item is required.

The proposed ordinance has been updated to reflect the City Commission's direction to expand the designation area from Sherman Street to Jefferson Street, rather than the originally proposed Johnson Street to Jefferson Street. Additional revisions include finalizing the verbiage regarding location references, ensuring that all plats related to the Broadwalk (historically platted as "Boardwalk") are incorporated, and adding an exhibit and attachment to the Ordinance.

The changes requested to the original proposed ordinance regarding the geographic area by the Commission warranted a new first reading. Pursuant to Section 166.0419(3)(c)(1), Florida Statutes, only one adoption hearing is required as the ordinance changes the zoning map for parcels of land less than ten contiguous acres. ...
