Explanation:
On May 25, 2025, the Office of the Mayor and City Commissioners issued a letter supporting the submission of a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Public Transit Service Development Grant to help fund the implementation of a micro-transit pilot program within the Tri-Rail corridor between the Hollywood and the Sheridan Street Tri-Rail Stations.
The Department of Development Services, Engineering, Transportation & Mobility Division applied for a grant in an amount not to exceed $1,400,314.00 to implement a micro-transit pilot program over a period of 3-years.
On November 3, 2025, the City received notice from FDOT District Four that the City of Hollywood had received final approval from FDOT Central Office to fund 50% of the total costs associated with the pilot project. FDOT funding is subject to availability of annual appropriation by the Florida Legislature.
A resolution committing a 50% local funds is required to finalize eligibility. The City's 50% match equates to a total of $700,157.00 over a three-year period, upon award. Matching funds will be budgeted in accordance with Exhibit "A."
The attached Resolution authorizes the appropriate City officials to accept funding upon award and execute all necessary program documents and agreements.
