SECOND READING:

No changes since first reading.

FIRST READING:

The applicant, Downtown Hollywood Holdings, LLC, is requesting to vacate a 24’ wide right-of-way easement located between Tyler Street and Hollywood Boulevard west of North 20th Avenue (2001 Hollywood Boulevard). This easement was originally established in 1989 for emergency vehicle access (Ordinance O-89-56, Exhibit “2”), and is no longer needed as part of the new development (“Soleste”) which is under construction (Resolution No. 19-DCPVM-61).

The new mixed-use project (324 residential units and 30,000 sq. ft. of commercial) is nearing completion. The entitlements for this project also included vacation of a portion of the alley (O-2021-14) and the establishment of an access easement. Although public record searches were previously done, the easement subject to this request was only recently identified.

Staff has determined the vacation to be consistent with the City’s Code and Comprehensive Plan objectives. The subject easement is not required for public use, and the proposed vacation bears a reasonable relationship to the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Hollywood, Florida.

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
