Explanation:
Section 2.03 of the City Charter states the Vice Mayor shall serve for a term of one year, and that the Commission shall vote to select a Vice Mayor.
Resolution No. R-2020-172 states the Commission intends, as a general rule, to elect the Commissioner who has continuously held the office of Commissioner the longest without having served as the Vice Mayor, and Resolution R-2021-333 appointed Caryl Shuham as Vice Mayor to serve a term of one year, effective December 1, 2021.
A new Vice Mayor must be appointed for a one-year term.
Fiscal Impact:
Approval of this Resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
