Staff Recommends: The Approval of the Attached Resolution

Explanation:

The Police Department seeks to implement an Automated External Defibrillator (“AED”) program with the purchase of AEDs. The program aims to improve public safety and emergency response capabilities. Officers are often the first to respond to an emergency call for service. The portability of an AED allows officers to have quick access to life-saving technology by storing it in patrol vehicles. AEDs will provide a robust emergency response by providing life-saving cardiac arrest treatment to victims.

The Police Department solicited three quotes from Cardio Partners, Inc, Rescue One, Inc, and LifeSafe Services, LLC.

Fiscal Impact:

A portion of the funding for the Blanket Purchase Agreement was included in the FY 2025 Capital Improvement Plan and is available in account number 335.209901.521.564531.001609.000.000.

The Police Department is actively applying for grants to augment the funding.  Equipment will be purchased as funds become available.
