Explanation:
The Department of Development Services' Community Development Division oversees programs that are funded in part by federal funding made available through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, which is administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).

On July 3, 2019, the City Commission passed and adopted Resolution No. R-2019-221, approving the 2019-2020 One Year Action Plan that includes a public service allocation to Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc. for their Bridge Program, which focuses on workforce development.

Due to the continued financial impact of the COVID-19 Health Emergency, the Department of Development Services' Community Development Division desires to provide the balance of CDBG funds, originally allocated to the Bridge Program, to support their Case Management and Social Services Assistance program.

Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc.'s Case Management and Social Services Assistance program provides a combination of assessment of family needs, case management, reemployment application assistance, SNAP application assistance, assistance with Medicaid/Florida Kid Care applications, and job readiness and/or employment assistance to eligible Hollywood residents.

The amendment to the agreement with Hispanic Unity of Florida, Inc. will not exceed the amount of $27,816.97, which is the remaining balance of the CDBG funds allocated to them. Additionally, this amendment extends the submittal deadline for an audited financia...
