Explanation:
GrayRobinson, P.A. (“the Law Firm”) represented the City in connection with the purchase of the COSAC properties and is representing the City in connection with the claim that the City is responsible for environmental contamination that existed on the ICON Office Building property at the time the City conveyed it to a Steve Berman entity.
Section 38.40(C)(2) of the Code of Ordinances exempts from the competitive bid and competitive proposal requirements of the Purchasing Ordinance contracts for professional services. The total fees to be paid to the Law Firm for FY 2015 for legal services, including, but not limited to, the above-described matters, are expected to approach but not exceed $50,000.00.
Funding has been identified and will be available in the Fiscal Year 2015 budget in 34.0115.15495.519.005201 and 01.0104.00000.514.003122.
