Explanation:
The City of Hollywood will be having a General Election to be held on November 8, 2022. The terms of the City Commissioners from Districts 1, 3 and 5 expire in November 2022.
The City Commissioners from Districts 1, 3 and 5 shall be elected for a four year term.
The District 6 City Commissioner Linda Sherwood has resigned her seat effective November 30, 2022.
The Broward County Supervisor of Elections has informed the City that the Special Election will have to be held in conjunction with the General Election on November 8, 2022. The City will be therefore having a Special Election to be held on November 8, 2022, to fill the unexpired term for District 6 City Commissioner.
In order to conduct the election, it is necessary to enter into the attached agreement with the Broward County Supervisor of Elections.
The City Clerk shall be authorized and directed to place upon the ballot to be used at such general election to be held on November 8, 2022, the names of all candidates properly qualifying.
