Explanation:
The City of Hollywood has always supported its military veterans, and in honor of their sacrifices, Hollywood is becoming a Purple Heart City. The Mission of the Purple Heart is to foster an environment of goodwill among the combat wounded veteran members and their families, promote patriotism, support legislative initiatives, and to make sure we never forget.
Mr. Lewis Colon, US Navy, Radio Commander, who served in 1974-1978 and 1981-1985, will accept the proclamation. Also in attendance will be Mr. Lee Brown, Florida State Commander of the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
