Explanation:

The Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division unilaterally changed the intake policy to require municipalities, including law enforcement and good Samaritan residents, to hold animals for 72 hours before being taken in by the County. The Mayor and City Commission believe that urging the Broward County Animal Care and Adoption Division to abandon the 72-hour-hold requirement and accept animals immediately is in the best interests of the residents and animals of the City, as their current policy diverts resources meant to provide safety to residents.

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of the attached resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
