Explanation:

The Hispanic Affairs Council serves as an advisory body to the City of Hollywood, providing insight and recommendations on matters affecting the Hispanic community. The Council works to promote inclusive policies, cultural awareness, and equitable access to city programs and services.

 

Through community engagement, outreach initiatives, and collaboration with local organizations, the Council helps identify key issues, supports civic participation, and fosters stronger connections between residents and city leadership.

 

Staff supports the Council by coordinating meetings, facilitating communication, and advancing initiatives that align with the City’s strategic goals of diversity, inclusion, and community well-being.

 

Hispanic Affairs Council members must reside or work in Hollywood. Additionally, individuals with diverse perspectives shall be represented on the Hispanic Affairs Council.

 

The Hispanic Affairs Council may consist of five members and two alternate members. Currently, there are three vacant member positions and two vacant alternate positions.

 

The current make-up of the Committee is as follows:

 

Jessie Hernandez and Melina Almodovar whose term is expiring June 30, 2027. Cristina Moinelo, Alejandra Palacios, and Maribel Ruiz whose term is expiring June 30, 2026

 

 

Fiscal Impact:

Approval of this resolution will not fiscally impact the City.
