Staff Recommends: Approval of the Attached Resolution.
Explanation:
This Resolution seeks authorization to amend the Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 Capital Improvement Plan adopted and approved by the City Commission on September 23, 2021, pursuant to Resolution R-2021-245.
On January 15, 2020, Resolution No. R-2020-001 approved the debt financing of $823,880.00 for the six Lifeguard Towers and two First Aid Stations. Due to the 2021 supply chain conditions and market volatility resulting from the pandemic, material price escalations caused the quotes received to be greater than the original estimated budget. Additional funding is also needed for the removal and demolition of the existing towers and the installation of new signage.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this project requires amending the approved FY 2022 Capital Improvement Program as detailed in Exhibit 1, subject to approval of this resolution. Available funding will be reallocated from the Hollywood Boulevard Complete Streets project.
