Explanation:
The Department of Public Utilities ("Department") is actively pursuing grant funding from various agencies to support the Department's infrastructure improvements. Grants that the Department wishes to pursue include grants from the Federal Emergency Management Agency ("FEMA"), the State of Florida, the Federal Government's Department of Housing and Urban Development, and other Federal, State and local agencies, which are offering grant opportunities for building infrastructure improvements.
The Department needs engineering and technical assistance to strategically identify and draft prospective grant applications that best suit the Department's needs and goals. Currently, the Department is considering grant opportunities being offered by FEMA's Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities Program, Rebuild Florida Program, CDBG-MIT Program, Florida Department of Environmental Protection Water Protection Grant, FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant Program, Resilient Florida Grant, 319(h) Nonpoint Source Funding Grant, South Florida Water Management District Alternative Water Supply Program, DEO Community Planning Technical Assistance Grant and other grants that may become available in the future.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. has assisted the Department with six grant applications last year and one of these applications received CDBG-DR grant funds in the amount of $3,435,000.00 for the repair and replacement of Lift Stations N-0...
