Explanation:
The Department of Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts ("PRCA") and Department of Design Construction Management "(DCM") desire to apply for the upcoming Florida Department of Environmental Protection Land and Water Conservation Fund ("LWCF") Program grant to seek funding for design, planning, and construction of the Sunset Park project in the amount of $1,500,000.00
The grant would be utilized to fund for the design, planning, permitting and construction of the Sunset Park project to an outdoor recreation facility
The Directors of PRCA and DCM recommend the City Commission authorize the appropriate City officials to apply for, and if awarded, accept LWCF grant funds
Fiscal Impact:
The estimated total cost for this project is $3,000,000. If awarded, grant funding in the amount of $1,500,000 will be appropriated in the FY 2025 Operating Budget and Capital Improvement Plan for this project.
Funding for the City's proposed grant match of $1,500,000 will be identified and allocated as needed in the Capital Improvement Plan subject to approval and adoption by the City Commission.
